The Certificate of Need Review Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month unless otherwise posted.

SHPDA Public Meeting Policy

The Certificate of Need Board announced SHPDA's new Public Meeting Policy at its October 19, 2011 Meeting.  The meeting policy was then revised on October 1, 2012.  A copy of the policy can be found here.  Please review the policy before the next official meeting of either the CON Review Board or the Statewide Health Coordinating Council.

CON Review Board Electronic Notification

Rule 410-1-3-.07 Electronic Notice states, "SHPDA may provide any notice required under these rules in electronic PDF format, which shall be considered delivered upon the date of transmission.  All health care providers holding a certificate of need from SHPDA, as well as any other interested parties seeking to be included in SHPDA's general distribution list, shall maintain with the agency a current e-mail address for purposes of this rule."  This rule became effective August 28, 2013.  Notice of CON Review Board meetings is posted to the Alabama Open Meetings Act website, www.openmeetings.alabama.gov.  To receive notice of meetings once they are posted, you may register for the site under the 'General Public' option, then register for the 'Alabama Health Planning and Development Agency (CNRB)'.  Automated notices of meeting dates, times, and locations, as well as Tentative Agendas, are sent once they are posted to the site by Agency personnel. 

Directions for the CONRB Meetings:

The CON meetings are held in the state auditorium in the State Capitol. The Capitol is located on Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery. For more information call (334)242-4103.

• Coming south bound on I-65 take Clay Street exit #172. This will take you onto Herron Street, which turns into Bibb Street, which turns into Madison Avenue. The Capitol borders Monroe Avenue and is located between Union Street and Bainbridge Street.

• Coming north bound on I-65 take Herron Street exit #172, which turns into Bibb Street, which turns into Madison Avenue. The Capitol borders Monroe Avenue and is located between Union Street and Bainbridge Street.

• Coming north bound on I-85 take the Court Street exit #1 and turn left onto Union Street. The Capitol borders Monroe Avenue and is located between Union Street and Bainbridge Street.

• Coming south on I-85 take the Union Street exit.  The Capitol borders Monroe Avenue and is located between Union Street and Bainbridge Street.

CON Review Board Meeting Information

The CONRB Meeting scheduled to be held on November 19, 2025 has been canceled. The project scheduled to be heard has been moved to the December agenda.
